Daisuke Shiota
Born in Osaka on February 12, 1968.
At the age of 19, he moved to Tokyo alone and entered the real estate industry. In 1994, he founded the current company, ABC Home Co., Ltd.

First of all, could you tell us how you two met? Gackt (hereafter G):
We were introduced by a mutual friend and soon became good friends after going out to eat together.

President Shiota (hereinafter S)
My first impression of him was that he was an interesting person. He has many surprises, such as suddenly sitting in meditation and bursting into song, or being able to speak several languages fluently. The more I get to know him, the more I find him fascinating, and I discover a new side to him every time I meet him.

Why did you both choose your current jobs?

S: Because I had a strong desire to earn money by myself. I wanted to work in the real estate or financial industry, which involve large amounts of money. The real estate company I previously worked for was a family-based company, and I felt that my hard work was not being recognized, so I decided to go independent.
G: As I was thinking about what my purpose in life was, I thought, "I want to create something that will leave a tangible legacy."

What do you think is important to make your dreams come true?

G: The most important thing when it comes to realizing your dreams and goals is how clearly you can visualize them. I think people who give up easily are those who focus too much on what's right in front of them. People who have a clear image of their goals and a concrete vision of "I want to be like this by this age, and by this age..." can recognize that even if they hit a wall, it's just one part of the process towards their goal. If you find another goal while you're working towards your goal, I think it's okay to change direction. I think the quickest way to achieve your goal is to visualize it and act by working backwards from it.

Many people, not just university students, struggle with not knowing what they want to do or what career is right for them. What are your thoughts on this?

S: It's difficult to find a job that truly suits you. It's important to think about whether you are suited to this job, but I think you should first try things out. Companies also need to provide opportunities and fields for those challenges.
G: I think it's good to find the meaning behind getting a job. You get a job to achieve your dreams beyond just a job. Don't lose sight of that. I hope you have a clear vision of your own will and create your future.
S: I'm focusing on creating an environment where people who work hard can thrive in proportion to their efforts. For the sake of Japan, I want the younger generation to pass the baton to the next generation. It's okay to use a company as a stepping stone to achieve your own goals. As Gackt said, I hope that people will have that kind of determination, and once they have a goal, they will work hard to achieve it.

Finally, please give us a message for the students.

S: The Japanese economy is now emerging from a long recession following the collapse of the bubble economy and is on the verge of recovery and a rapid growth. This is the perfect time for students about to enter the workforce. And as a revolutionary real estate distribution company, ABC Home will prepare the best stage for you to enter.
G: As I've said many times before, you need to have a goal in mind and work towards it. First, take on the challenge! Work hard to find a company that allows you to do what you want to do.
