Ateam Lifestyle Inc. President and CEO Fumio Mase

To make the company a place where everyone can be happy To make the company last for 100 years

President and CEO of Ateam Lifestyle Inc.
Fumio Mase

In April 2007, he joined Nikko Cordial Securities Inc. (now SMBC Nikko Securities Inc.), and in November 2008, he joined Ateam Inc.
After serving as the comparison site business manager in the Internet Media Division, he was appointed Representative Director and President of Ateam Lifestyle Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Ateam Inc., in August 2013 (current position). In October 2018, he was appointed Director of Ateam Inc. (current position).

He says he played hard during his university days. The first company he worked for wasn't a good fit for him. However, that experience gave him the opportunity to reexamine himself, and it became the foundation for his subsequent rapid growth. We spoke to President Mase, who says that once you find a job that suits you, all you have to do is enjoy working, and the results will follow.

I thought that the four years at university would be the most meaningful time of my life, so I was determined to "play to the fullest." I also played tennis as part of a club activity, and I played almost every day for four years. There were about 100 members. There were all kinds of people, and I feel like I developed the ability to listen.
I decided to work for Nikko Cordial Securities Inc. It is a large and well-known company. Because it is in the financial industry, I had the impression that even young employees would have a high salary range. However, after joining the company, I ended up at the bottom of individual sales performance. This was the first time I had experienced failure in my life. So I decided to reevaluate myself.
I thought about it for a minute. Then I realized that at the core of my personality are the desires to be popular, to feel a sense of belonging with everyone, and to not be disliked by others. In sales at a securities company, there were many times when I was unable to meet the requests of customers, and I had many painful experiences through sales activities.
Before long, I found myself working at a company that I truly enjoyed.
My desire to work gradually grew stronger. In the end, I decided to quit about a year after joining the company as a new graduate. In 2008, even though the economy was in a downturn due to the Lehman Shock, IT companies were seeing growth in performance and there was a lot of recruitment going on. It was around this time that I came across Ateam, whose management philosophy is "to be a company where everyone can be happy" and "to be a company that will last for 100 years from now." I still remember that I intuitively felt, "I can trust this philosophy. I want to be a part of Ateam!"

An environment where people around you are happy with your achievements

The appeal of Ateam is the high degree of discretion and freedom in the work. We propose ideas, and the good ones are adopted and implemented.
Therefore, everyone around me is happy. When I first joined the company, I was surprised by the corporate culture where many employees genuinely rejoice in the achievements of others.
After serving as the head of a business division, he was promoted to president of Ateam Lifestyle, a newly established subsidiary, in 2013.
Ateam is developing a wide range of businesses through the internet in a variety of fields. Without limiting itself to a single business area, it is involved in a variety of businesses, including game apps for smart devices, web services that support life events and daily life from cradle to grave, and bicycle e-commerce.
There are three major features of Ateam. First, because our business domain is so broad, you can build your career in a variety of fields. Second, because we work as a team, our employees get along very well with each other. This is because Ateam values the mindset of "respecting each other."
Third, Ateam is not a company that has grown significantly through a single business, but rather a corporate entity with multiple businesses with annual sales of several billion yen. While the company has a stable foundation, it values a venture spirit. Each service has its own manager, so there are many opportunities for responsible work. The kind of people we want to work with are those who are not satisfied with the status quo and have a strong desire to grow. We also like honest people who can "recognize each other." Honest people can honestly express their opinions, express gratitude when others give them advice or criticism, and use that advice to reflect and improve.

Always smile and you'll be lucky

I boast that I am a lucky person. The roots of this lie in "always smiling" and "never turning down a job."
The key to connecting with "opportunity = luck" is to not turn down offers, even if they are offered to you, and to accept them with a smile and without showing any displeasure.
Looking ahead, we would like to create a situation where every person uses Ateam's services at least once in their life, from cradle to grave.
In the future, we will provide global services.
I hope to do so.
