Live streamer Yuusha Belokun spends 20 hours a day betting his life on live performances!

■ Profile
Born in 1994. Has been a live streamer for two years and currently maintains the highest rank of S. After three years of working life, he started his life as a freelance live streamer, solely on Pococha, without being affiliated with any agency. He has now established the QQQ agency, where he supports around 50 affiliated live streamers while also being an active live streamer himself.
A man who was just an ordinary person rose to become a top live streamer in just two years. The man who made it happen was the heroic live streamer Belokun. How did he reach the top and what kind of life does he lead? And what did he see after facing live shows for 20 hours a day? We'll introduce you to the little-known reality of live streamers.
■Became an unemployed live streamer in just 3 months with no stable income!
I first encountered live streaming when a drinking party was canceled due to COVID-19, giving me free time. At first, a friend was supposed to comment as a listener and I would stream, but on the day, my friend didn't show up, and I ended up talking to strangers from the very first time. I learned that I could make money from live streaming, so I decided to give it a try for three months. However, I continued to make less than I earned as a student at a part-time job. Until then, I had been balancing my work and live performances, but I thought, "I have to take on this with my back against the wall," and decided to quit my job. I had a mysterious confidence that I could make it because "the number of people watching live shows has increased due to the COVID-19 pandemic."
■To become a supporter of live streamers
For the first month after he quit his job, he performed live for 20 hours a day, excluding sleep time. "I'm going to focus on this, so please join me in my tale of a NEET's rise to power!" he declared, letting his listeners know how serious he was.
It was basically just casual conversation, so I carefully answered each question that came up. I stared at the screen for hours, trying not to miss a question. I didn't get paid, I received frozen meals and cigarettes as gifts, and I lived a life where I never left the house.
Then, four months after I started live streaming, I reached the highest rank on the app. A little while later, I wondered if I could use my experience to do something, so I started an agency to support live streamers. Now I'm in a position to give advice to others, but I still continue to stream for seven hours a day.
■After continuing to perform live, I was able to host drinking parties.
When I perform live, the amount of work I put in is paid back in some way, so it makes me want to work a little harder every day. Also, the age demographic of my listeners ranges from junior high school students to 70-year-old grandmothers. The range of occupations is also very wide, so the more I perform live, the more my values change, which is another appealing aspect.
One change I've noticed through continuing to do live shows is that I've become able to keep the mood going at drinking parties. On the other hand, when I'm face-to-face, I can see the other person's reactions, so it's a good opportunity to research how people react to my words and actions. In this way, I'm using even a moment from my everyday life to help me with my live streaming. My biggest goal right now is to help the live streamers who belong to me succeed. I'd also like to give back to the live streamers who belong to me by creating opportunities for those who are successful to take the next step in their careers.
■Message to university students
When you are job hunting, find out what you want to do and increase your options. Failure is inevitable in life. If you are afraid of failure, you will never get started. At times like these, people with many options have the mental space to tackle the task at hand with all their might. Keep trying until you realize that if you have tried this far and still can't make it, then it's okay.
