Astrolab Co., Ltd. (CEO: Yasuyuki Kusaka) is a leading company in corporate equipment management, aiming to provide users with the value experience that comes from "using things carefully" and to realize a sustainable world.
Astrolab's cloud service "Equipment Management Cloudannounced that it will collaborate with Amazon Business, an e-commerce service for businesses and sole proprietors provided by Amazon.
A press conference to announce the new service was held on Monday, February 27th at MONSTER (STUDIO Nogizaka, address: 5F Jukou Building, 261 Minami-Aoyama 1-chome, Minato-ku, Tokyo).

The event featured a special talk show between CEO Yasuyuki Kusaka and popular comedian Shingo Fujimori of Oriental Radio, who appears in the commercial for the equipment management system, where they discussed the importance of equipment management and how to create a sustainable society.

From the special talk show

What problems will arise if there are too many fixtures?
Fujimori: I guess it's a matter of management or loss.

Can the loss problem be solved?
Kusaka: Yes, it can be solved. By managing and making public the names when assigning them, owners will be aware of the importance of keeping them safe, and it will also prevent malicious piracy.

Some stockpiled items have expiration dates.
Kusaka: Disaster supplies can sometimes reach their expiration date without you realizing it. By setting an expiration alert, you can replace items without wasting them.

How much cost savings will there be?
Fujimori: I can't imagine it, but it must be a huge amount.
Kusaka: In terms of personnel costs for general affairs, there is usually about 20% waste per employee. Considering that even the act of searching requires time and manpower, this can significantly reduce costs.
Fujimori: I probably waste my time making my manager look for things too. Treating things properly leads to sustainability.

Any final words?
Kusaka: We live in a world that touts sustainability, but even if we are aware of it, it's often difficult to make it happen.
Equipment management is the most mundane task in a company, but we hope that by promoting equipment management to the public, sustainability will become more widespread and more companies will find their work easier.
Fujimori: Equipment management is a term I've never been familiar with before, but it's very important to eliminate waste and increase efficiency. I'd like more people to know about it. It's a service I'd definitely recommend to my partner.
