■After the stage
This time, it was okay to shout out loud, so I was happy to be able to experience the excitement of the venue.
I think it was also really great that I was able to strongly feel a close connection with the audience in the venue.
I have had the opportunity to appear at Tokyo Girls Collection many times, and I find it fascinating to be able to learn about fashion trends at such a large event.
As a model and actress, I don't often have the opportunity to interact directly with my fans, so I think this is a valuable opportunity to meet the people who support me.

■What do you value in your work?
I value three things: being true to myself, never forgetting to be grateful, and working hard.
Looking back, I think I was a bit timid in my teens. It's not that something changed or there was a particular trigger, but when I turned 20, I felt like a huge weight was lifted from my shoulders. Since then, I've tried to be myself so that I can get everyone involved and have fun together.
This is a job that is supported by many people, including my fans. I never forget to be grateful to those around me, and I work hard at my job so as not to disappoint their expectations.
This is something my mother has taught me since I was little. Without forgetting this mindset, as an actor I would like to try my hand at action roles, older roles, and roles that are different from the image of Matsui Airi that I have had up until now.

■Currently airing "Blue Birthday"about
"Blue Birthday" is a time-leap suspense love story, and its appeal lies not only in the romance but also in the suspenseful mystery that transcends time and space. I hope you enjoy the thrilling experience.
The heroine, Ozaki Karin, switches between her 17-year-old and 27-year-old selves, so I thought it would be difficult to play her differently. It was a challenge to portray the "characteristics" of each age without losing sight of Karin's character, who is innocent and works hard at everything. I was worried about how to express this, and I consulted with the director about each scene as we filmed.
But there are also many fun things. When we all read the script together before filming started, everyone celebrated my birthday. They gave me cake and flowers, which made me very happy and touched.

■Message to students
I want people to try things they want to do. Unless they try, they won't know whether they can do it or not, whether they're good at it or not, or whether it's a good fit for them.
There are many things you can only judge by taking on challenges and learning about your own characteristics. Therefore, it is important to value challenges as you spend your student life.
