36th Mynavi Tokyo Girls Collection 2023 SPRING/SUMMER ~Kagei Hina~

The 36th Mynavi Tokyo Girls Collection 2023 SPRING/SUMMER was held at the National Yoyogi Stadium First Gymnasium on Saturday, March 4, 2023.

The theme this time is "NEPOCH," which means a new era.

Among the diverse and impressive cast, TikTok creators and talentsHina KageiWe spoke to Mr.

■After the stage

At this year's TGC, we were allowed to shout out loud, so the sense of unity in the venue was palpable and it was honestly fun. Having the opportunity to attend such a big event is truly invaluable, as it allows me to meet everyone in person and convey my feelings directly to them.
I think the charm of TGC is being able to see lots of cute fashion and wonderful models. Although I'm completely looking at it from the customer's perspective. (laughs)
From the performers' perspective, the stage and runway are very sparkling. I see how hard it is to prepare behind the stage with the models, hair and makeup artists, staff, and many other people, but I love the moment when I step out onto the stage or runway and transform into a cool, sparkling look.
Appearing at TGC boosts my motivation, and seeing everyone's sparkling eyes gives me the energy to do my best too!

■ The presence of fans

They are my support. Even when things are tough at work, my fans give me the motivation to keep trying, and they help me not to give up or run away. They are truly the source of my motivation.
Social media can easily become a hot topic for some reason. Even if you are not aware of it, it can be perceived as your fault. Sometimes you can end up feeling lonely and isolated.
At times like those, fans would send me videos with hashtags like "I want to protect Hina-chan's smile," and they would also send me fan letters collected from people who couldn't attend the events. This kind of support from fans, and their kind words like "Hina-chan is just a person, so don't push yourself too hard," are what keep me going now.

■As an artist, Kagei Hina

Up until now, I've been given roles with strong personalities, such as a nerd who speaks in a low voice and you can't understand what he's saying, or a slightly mischievous high school girl, and it was a lot of fun to actually act them out because I was able to show a different side of myself.
In the future, I would like to try playing a psychopath. I only have a few experiences so far, but I have never played a psychopath, so I really want to take on the challenge!
Social media has brought me to where I am today. I hope that by taking on new challenges in various fields, more and more people will be inspired to try something new, like, "If Kagei Hina is trying it, I want to try it too!"
I can do this because I am an artist, and I feel that the appeal of this job is that people can aspire to it.

■Message to university students

Live your life as you are! Nowadays, it's become a little easier to live as people value self-expression, but for example, if you wear clothes you like, other people may still judge you for them.
I don't think there's any need to change what you like, and it's because I didn't change that that I was able to stand on the TGC stage thanks to TikTok.
So, I urge you to stick to what you like now. I also want you to be interested in a variety of things and try them out. The experience you gain from these challenges will be surprisingly useful in your future work.
