■ Thoughts after finishing the stage and the appeal of Tokyo Girls Collection (TGC)
It had been a long time since we'd been on a stage where we were allowed to cheer in front of an audience, but the moment we stepped out onto the stage, I felt like I could feel the energy and the feeling of "We've been waiting for you!" and it was so much fun walking around. Up until now, we'd felt frustrated that we weren't allowed to make any noise even when we were right in front of each other, so now that we were able to shout, I was able to feel everyone's current emotions firsthand, and it made me so happy. When I first appeared at TGC, I was so nervous that I don't even remember walking, but now I can walk around while looking at the faces of the audience enjoying themselves.
The young generation of spectators who will shape the future gather here with excitement. I think it's a place where everything is positive and there's nothing but optimistic energy. It seems that some people see the models at TGC and think they want to be involved in that kind of work. It's a wonderful place where they can inspire their dreams and find something they can hope for the future. I hope that TGC will be a source of nourishment for creating the future.
■ What is the existence of fans?
They are irreplaceable. This job wouldn't exist without my fans, and they are the ones who support me the most, so I think they are the source of everything I need to do my job. Everyone tells me they can do their best when they see me, but it's the opposite; I can do my best when I see everyone supporting me. They are a treasure to me.
In the past, I would receive letters, but these days we live in an age where we can easily express our thoughts through events or comments on social media, so I think that more and more people are now willing to share their feelings in all sorts of places, and it makes me really happy.
■ What makes your work rewarding and what you value
I feel rewarded by seeing my fans happy, working with people I admire, and having so many valuable experiences. I'm especially glad that I was able to show my fans, who have been supporting me since I was a teenager, that I was able to do well, when I met them at an event for the first time in a long time.
I try to have confidence in myself so that I can please my fans. I think it's very important to approach the stage with confidence, thinking, "I'll be fine here," and "I'll be the one to shine the brightest."
■ Future dreams and goals
I would like to continue to deliver this message through my work. I hope to improve my skills by appearing in various productions. As I enter my 30s, I would like to try roles that I can only experience when I'm older, such as playing a mother. I also want to give back to my fans by holding events where I can meet them in person. I'm happy to be able to communicate with them directly, and I think my fans will be happy too. I want to create an opportunity where we can share our feelings and feel close to me.
■Message to university students
Your new life will soon begin, but the thing that made me the most nervous was when I entered university. I was very nervous because it was a place to meet people from countries and regions I had never met before, but once I got there, I found it to be a lot of fun. I always tried to stay positive and do what I wanted to do, so I think that's why I had such a good time. When I was a university student, I had the impression that many people were overthinking things and wavering while moving forward, but now I think that time spent wavering is a waste, so I want people to just do what they think of as soon as they think of it. Even if you fail, it will become a learning experience and you will gain something, so don't be afraid of failure and just keep moving forward. Have fun trying to do what you want to do and do your best.
