When I first heard about the role, I had doubts about whether I was the right person for it and whether I was the right person for the role.
When I watched season 1, I was impressed by how realistically the original work was reproduced and how good it is that it can only be made into a live-action film. I never thought I would be given the opportunity to play the lead role in season 2, so I was honestly happy, and because season 1 was so great, I also felt a sense of responsibility.
To prepare for the role, I thoroughly read the original manga and pasted manga clippings onto the script to get a feel for Runa's facial expressions in the original. I also thought that the strong and straightforward Runa's weak side becomes apparent after meeting Hayato, which I thought made her a fascinating character, so I carefully acted out the gap.
The shooting itself was a tight schedule, but I felt at ease because I had worked with the director six months prior. There were many scenes with Hayato, played by Tsuna Hironaga, and although I tend to be shy, Tsuna broke down that barrier on the first day, so I think the shoot was very bright and fun.
I had many discussions with the director, and I think every scene turned out well. I also worked hard and seriously on the acting. I think it's a work that will reach everyone's hearts.

I had never read the original manga, but I had heard rumors that it was very popular among teenagers and people in their twenties, so I was surprised to find that it contained episodes that women in their thirties and forties could relate to. As I am getting older myself, I felt it was fate to take on the role of Emi, and I wanted to take on the challenge.
Emi is a woman who cares about what others think of her, and has lived a life where she has been caught up in great powers, so I think she has lived a very exciting life. That's why it was fun to act as her, as she goes to many different places, wears many different clothes, and experiences many different emotions. On set, I was nervous while acting, thinking, "What if people really dislike me?" I'm an optimistic person, though.
Also, since the filming took place after the Runa episode, I felt that the staff were carrying the pressure of "Tomorrow Kano" on their shoulders, so I thought about how I could liven things up. "Tomorrow Kano" is a work that was made with love and honesty between the cast and staff.
This work depicts the pain, loneliness, and sadness of many people. I created it with the idea that even if your heart is broken, or you grow old, you can still start over, so I hope you will watch it.

I continued to appear in the role of Yua from Season 1. I've been hearing more and more people calling out to me on the street, "That's Yua, right?", which really shows how big the response to Season 1 was.
The special edition depicts the process by which "Yua" became "Yua-chan." I love the story of Yua's complicated past, which forced her to become who she is. It touched my heart so much that I cried when I first read it. I'm so happy that everyone will be able to get to know Yua's character better. Please look forward to seeing a life-sized Yua, a little different from Season 1!
The atmosphere on set was always friendly and harmonious. This time, original characters appeared for the first time in the history of "Tomorrow Kano," and since it was an original story, we wanted to respect the worldview of the original, so we all had many discussions. In addition, Director Sakai especially had a strong attachment to the original work and understood the worldview.
This work also vividly depicts the conflicts of the girls, and it really tugs at your heartstrings. I want everyone to see how the girls are living their lives today!
