thePARTY 2023 TOKYO

ThePARTY's special project "TOP OF thePARTY", commonly known as "TOT".
This beauty contest will determine the most beautiful, attractive, and influential girl for a chance to become a finalist in the Miss CAMPUS COLLECTION.
Candidates will be recruited from among the models appearing on thePARTY, and finalists will be selected through auditions.
The finalists will go through various activities leading up to the day of the competition, facing themselves and facing obstacles, but they will also discover a new version of themselves and grow into even more brilliant women.

Held at Zepp DiverCity (TOKYO) on June 13, 2023thePARTY 2023 TOKYOWe spoke with Miki Yazaki, who won the grand prize at the event.

■How did you feel when you received the award? Who do you want to tell first?

I thought, "I'm glad I worked hard!" All the contestants had worked hard, so I felt like "everyone deserves the Grand Prix," but I have no regrets about all the hard work I've put in up until now, and I'm happy that it's paid off.
The person I want to express these feelings to most is my best friend. She was always by my side when I was streaming on MixChannel, and she really supported me.

■What do you think looking back?

The most difficult thing was the dietary restrictions. I love to eat, so I was conscious of not eating too much and cut back on sweets.
At first, it was tough for me to keep talking by myself if no one joined my MixChannel streams.
However, thanks to the people who supported me, I was able to enjoy streaming, and the long hours of streaming felt like the time flew by.

■What made you decide to take on this challenge? What are your goals for the future?

I was in the cheerleading club in high school, but the COVID-19 pandemic left me feeling frustrated because I couldn't do anything, so I wanted to start something new in college.
At that time, I happened to be contacted by CAMPUS COLLECTION through Instagram, and I thought it would be a good opportunity, so I decided to participate.
My dream is to become a flight attendant for a foreign company, but I was worried about being proactive in talking to people from overseas. I decided to take on the challenge in order to gain more confidence.

■Message to university students

If you're wondering whether to take on the challenge, I encourage you to just take the first step.
I decided to enter this year's competition because I wish I had tried out for TOP OF the PARTY last year. If I hadn't entered, I wouldn't have won the Grand Prix.
I hope that this award will encourage people who are struggling.
