◆Please tell us what made you enter the entertainment industry.
I've always loved dramas and thought they were a world full of dreams. I wanted to be the one to spread the word in the entertainment industry, so I made my debut as an actor at the age of 18. Filming for dramas and movies often requires a tight schedule, and I sometimes find it difficult, including preparing for the role, but I motivate myself by thinking, "I want to give many people hope, dreams, or even sadness through my work."
One thing I always value when working is "not forgetting the people watching." When we start filming, it's easy to forget about the people who will be delivering the work. However, that's no good, so I always try to keep in mind "how I want to present it." I believe that by working together as a team to create a work, we can deliver incredible power.

Silent ServiceIn the original work, I played the role of Fukamachi Hiroshi. In the original work, Fukamachi is portrayed as a "strong man," but I deliberately avoided that image and instead focused on the inner reality that could be read from the script. Also, on set, I focused on creating a sense of tension, and because the setting was inside a submarine, I tried to avoid making the same movements due to the cramped space.
This film is a condensed version of contemporary issues. I hope you will imagine a situation where you can't see your opponent and can't get outside, and enjoy the thrill of being on a submarine.
◆Message to students
I think many young people today have their own vision. If they think, "We can do something more interesting," I think they can make Japan more interesting. Imagine what kind of Japan you want to make.
