2024 Earth Mondamin Cup Pro-Am Tournament

Earth Corporation sponsored "Earth Mondamin Cup 2024" was held at Camellia Hills Country Club (265 Otake, Sodegaura City, Chiba Prefecture).
At the pro-am tournament before the qualifying and final rounds, we spoke to the players about what motivated them to start playing golf and what they find appealing about it.

I started playing golf at the age of 13, but I didn't enjoy it much as a child. However, when I felt myself working hard at golf during qualifying tournaments, I realized that I loved golf. Now I feel that I enjoy it more than anything.
The best part of golf is when things don't go well. Even people who are good at sports can't be good at golf. I think it's fun when things don't go the way you want them to.
I think it's wonderful to have dreams, so I hope that all university students will not give up, but will work hard and achieve their dreams.

7th place tie: Ayami Ozeki(Amiyu Ozeki) *Prize: 9,000,000 yen

Influenced by my father and grandfather, I started playing golf at around age 6. When I was a high school student and preparing for the professional test, I often watched games on TV, and my desire to become a professional golfer grew.
I think the appeal of golf is that you get to interact with people a lot. When I'm feeling down because my performance is poor and someone offers words of encouragement, I feel grateful in a way that I don't feel in my everyday life.
I'm sure you'll have doubts and struggles as you pursue your dreams, but as long as you have faith in yourself, you'll be fine. Do your best. I'll do my best too!

Tied for 10th place: Ayako Kimura(Ayako Kimura) *Prize money: 4,277,142 yen

My father used to play golf, and I became interested in golf after watching the Itoen Ladies' Tournament with tickets given to me by my father's coach at the time. Rather than the sport of golf, I was inspired by the sight of Ai Miyazato signing autographs, and I wanted to try signing autographs myself.
The best part about golf is that it is a sport that can be enjoyed by everyone, regardless of gender, young or old.
I hope you will pursue what you are good at and what you like, and work hard to get the job you really want in the future.

I started playing golf when I was eight years old, accompanying my father to the driving range. The most difficult time I've ever had was when I failed the pro test in my first year. Even after becoming a pro, I still enjoy golf, but I also feel its toughness and pain. When I feel down, I try to relax by meeting up with friends.
I think the appeal of golf is that it can be enjoyed by people of all ages.
University life seems like a lot of fun, but make sure you enjoy it to the fullest as it is your last year as a student before you enter society.

My first encounter with golf was when my father took me to a driving range when I was four years old. I was small at the time and had a hard time hitting the ball far, but once I gradually got the hang of it, I had a lot of fun.
I had wanted to become a professional golfer ever since I started playing golf, but after watching a professional tournament in junior high school, it became a clear goal for me.
I think the best part of golf is being able to play in the great outdoors. On sunny days, you can enjoy the scenery, which is another attraction.
I hope that all university students will continue to work towards their goals and dreams without giving up, even when times are tough.

I first encountered golf when I was three years old, accompanying my father to practice.
Since I was in junior high school, I had a strong desire not to lose to my rivals, and I clearly set my sights on becoming a professional. I was really happy when I passed the pro test.
One of the attractions of golf is that you can play with people of all ages and have the chance to have "accidental experiences" where things go well unexpectedly. I would be delighted if university students would take an interest in the sport.

My father and older sister both played golf, so I would accompany them to the practice range and naturally started playing. I went to a high school with a golf club, and the environment influenced me to want to become a professional golfer.
When I can't quite play the way I want to, I feel happy and enjoy it when I hit a good shot or make a good putt.
I'm sure there will be some hardships as you pursue your dreams, but I'm sure there will be many fun things and experiences waiting for you at the end, so I hope you do your best.

I started playing golf at the age of 8 at my father's suggestion. I started competing at the age of 10, and it was around this time that I began to enjoy golf. Practicing every day was tough, but I felt happy when I got good results in the tournaments.
There are many hardships, but the practice you put in will always pay off in results. It's fun when you get results in a match, and I think the appeal of playing is that you can play with a fresh feeling and a desire to improve every time.

Encouraged by my parents, I started playing golf with my sister when I was 3 years old. When I first played golf, I found it difficult but also fun. I had been aiming to become a professional from the beginning, but it wasn't until I played in my first professional tournament in my third year of junior high school that I really began to think about making that dream come true.
The appeal of golf is that it can be enjoyed by people of all ages, from young to old. There are many things you can only do when you're young, so I hope that university students will try everything they want to do so that they won't have any regrets.

Encouraged by my golf-loving parents, I started playing golf at the age of 10. There were times when I wanted to quit, but seeing my parents' happy faces when I achieved results made me happy, and I've continued to enjoy playing golf even now that I'm a professional.
Golf allows you to interact with a wide variety of people through your play, so it's also very attractive in terms of building relationships.

I started playing golf at the age of five, when I became interested in watching my father practice.
When I started elementary school, my practice became more serious and there were times when I wanted to quit golf, but the success of professional golfers and the desire to become a professional golfer that gradually grew from my practice have kept me going until now.
The best part of golf is being able to play in lush, natural surroundings. The best part is being able to enjoy it with people of all ages.
I think that knowing golf will be useful when you enter the workforce. It is a valuable sport that can be played in nature. Take this opportunity to start playing golf, university students!

His career as a golfer began when he started practicing golf with his father at the age of 8. As he participated in national tournaments, he grew to love golf more and more, and by the time he was in junior high school, he had decided that he wanted to become a professional golfer in the future.
Since becoming a professional, I have had a lot of fun traveling to tournaments around the country, and I have come to realize once again that one of the joys of golf is being able to play with people of all ages.
Golf can be a big hurdle to take up as a hobby, as you need to buy the necessary gear and clubs at first, but there are places where you can easily try it out, such as driving ranges, so I would encourage university students to give it a try.

I first encountered golf when I went to a driving range with my father at the age of three. When I was in kindergarten, I went to watch a professional match and wanted to be as successful as them. When I was in elementary school, I went straight to the driving range every day after school.
It's fun to see each step of improvement, such as getting better at something you weren't good at before, increasing your distance, or making a good putt, so I would like as many people as possible to start playing golf.

I started playing golf when I was in the first grade of elementary school, influenced by my grandfather. After that, I went to the practice range almost every day. I decided to become a professional golfer when I was in the third grade of elementary school, after seeing Ai Miyazato playing and thinking she was cool.
The appeal of golf is that it is a sport that can be enjoyed by people of all ages and allows people to connect with each other.
I know that all of you university students are busy every day, but I hope that you will stay positive and do your best in everything you do.

I started playing golf when I accompanied my father to the driving range when I was in the fourth grade of elementary school. There were many people around me at the golf school who were aiming to become professionals, and with the influence of my parents, I naturally began to aim to become a professional. Every day was spent practicing, and my youth was dominated by golf.
There are few sports where both professionals and amateurs can play together, so I think this is a big attraction of golf.
I believe that as university students, you have a lot of potential because you are young, so I encourage you to try all sorts of things, even if you fail.

I think the appeal of golf is that there is no "right answer." It is a sport where you never play under the "same circumstances" - the course, the weather, your own physical condition, etc. It's fun to play with a spirit of exploration, always working towards a goal.

The appeal of golf is that you are playing against nature, so you never hit the same shot twice, so you never get bored of the game.

I think the charm of golf is playing in the great outdoors. When I played golf for the first time, I was surprised to find that it was played in a forest like this.
I believe there are things that university students can only do now, so I urge you to take on new challenges. Believe that the future is bright, and do your best.
