39th Mynavi Tokyo Girls Collection 2024 AUTUMN/WINTER ~ Airi Ikumi ~

Saturday, September 7, 2024 at Saitama Super Arena39th Mynavi Tokyo Girls Collection 2024 AUTUMN/WINTER' was held.
The theme for this year's event is "A STEP FORWARD." A STEP FORWARD signifies the start of a new adventure or challenge. TGC is filled with the excitement of discovering a new you.
With autumn approaching, we spoke with model and actress Ikumi Airi, one of the many splendid performers at Mynavi TGC 2024 A/W.

■The TGC stage is a place where you can get power

I get excited every time this time of year comes around. On the TGC stage, the fans and the audience are really close to me, and I can see their faces and fans all the way to the back, so I get a lot of energy from them. In preparation for the stage, I cut down on salt intake a few days before and was careful about my diet. This time, I was on stage to look cool, so I tried to tone down my happiness more than usual, but I was having so much fun that I ended up waving my hands halfway through. (laughs)

■ Acting made me realize that "it's not enough to just have fun"

I used to work mainly as a model, so I felt like I was doing what I loved, mainly fashion and makeup. Recently, I've had more opportunities to act, so I often feel like I need to watch a lot of different works and study, and I've come to realize that it's not enough to just have fun.
Since I often meet people for the first time when I work as an actor, I try to "become the character" from the makeup stage onwards so that I don't feel shy and can quickly fit in on set.
I am still often called "Meruru," so I would like to work harder so that people will know me as the actor "Nukumi Meru."
I love eating, so I treat myself to a meal on a regular basis to motivate myself at work.

■What is the secret to your beauty?

I try to actually try out products that are popular in the world. It may be difficult to buy expensive products, but you won't know until you try them out, so I try out the products and then choose the ones that suit my hair and skin.

■Message to students

I'm a positive person who never thinks negatively, so I enjoy life to the fullest. (laughs) I think there are still many things that students can try, so don't limit yourself to one thing, but keep trying out the things you want to do and find as many things as you like.
