The Showdra Executive Committee is a short drama competition"Shodra Awards 2025"The awards ceremony was held at Otemachi Mitsui Hall (Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo) on Wednesday, April 16, 2025. Guests at the ceremony included actors Masanobu Takashima, Marika Matsumoto, Startup Factory CEO Osamu Suzuki, and actor Natsuki Abe, and the event was hosted by freelance announcer Kasumi Mori.

The award ceremony was held as part of a competition for the Short Drama (Shodora for short) project, which aims to discover the next generation of creators and star talent, and to develop new ways of expressing videos, through the familiarity of "vertical short videos" and the narrative quality of drama.

We would like to express our sincere gratitude to everyone involved, and especially to all the creators, for successfully hosting the Mynavi Showdra Awards 2025. In just one year since last year, the number of cooperating broadcasters and talent agencies has increased significantly, and the number of submissions has also increased significantly, from 1573 to 3711. We hope to work with everyone to further promote this excitement, so that it does not end as a passing fad, but rather remains a "tradition" to be passed down to the next generation.

I personally look forward to seeing new talents from among those gathered here today take flight and create works that will astonish the world.

◾️Comment from Marika Matsumoto, who took on the challenge of appearing in a short drama

I was honored to witness the beginning of this new content called Showdora, and it was truly impressive to see it become a legacy. Because Showdora was shot in a small space, we were conscious of the angle of view and the sense of distance, and we made many efforts to attract attention.

Short drama "Is this the right face?'

This is a work that I have thought about and expressed in my own way the clashes between talent and managers, as well as the depth of the role of manager. I performed it based on my own interpretation, but I think it is an interesting work that shines a spotlight on the job of manager. I hope you enjoy it and learn more about the job of a manager.

I was really happy when I heard that I would be appearing in the Showdra series scheduled for release in June. At that time, I watched various Showdra series and felt that it was a new form of entertainment that anyone could participate in as long as they had an idea and the motivation, so I was really excited.

I am grateful for the opportunity to take on new challenges, and I will do my best. I will create the best possible performance in the short amount of time I have, and perform with all my heart so that the audience can enjoy it, so please look forward to it.

I am extremely surprised as I never expected to receive this wonderful award. Hoshi no Yotsuya Sanchome Theater was approached by Ota Productions and decided to try their hand at Showdra. By participating today and seeing the other participants' works, I was able to once again see how everyone is working hard to create something interesting, without being bound by things like the number of views. This is why I hope that Showdra will continue as a part of culture.
