40th Mynavi Tokyo Girls Collection 2025 SPRING/SUMMER ~Kobayashi Yui~

It was held at the National Yoyogi Stadium First Gymnasium on Saturday, March 1, 2025."40th Mynavi Tokyo Girls Collection 2025 SPRING/SUMMER"The theme for this event was "HERE WE GO!". Celebrating its 20th anniversary, TGC is taking a new step towards the future. With the arrival of spring, Mynavi TGC 2025 S/S welcomed a diverse and impressive lineup of performers, and we spoke with Yui Kobayashi.

About TGC

One of the attractions of TGC is being able to see a wide variety of fashions all in one place. It's also a great learning opportunity, as it allows me to learn about fashion outside of my favorite genres. I actually watch the models walk down the runway to learn about how they walk and how to present their clothes. The key to my outfits this time is their "fluffy" feel. Recently, more and more people are using fluffy items like ruffles as accent pieces, so I hope you'll take inspiration from how they look on the runway. Since fluffy outfits tend to create movement, I made a conscious effort to swing my arms more than usual while walking down the runway this time. I've loved fashion since I was a child, so I love the sparkling atmosphere of TGC, where I can dress up in style. When I first appeared at TGC, I was very nervous, had trouble walking, and my face was stiff. But now I have the time to look at the audience and enjoy the runway.

■ What makes the job rewarding?

I've been interested in the entertainment industry since I was a child, but that desire only grew stronger when I entered high school. I had friends around me who wanted to become actresses, so I decided I wanted to give it a try too. I also admired models, and always dreamed of becoming one while looking at magazines. One of the rewards of this job is when someone buys the clothes I wear. On the other hand, when I perform on a big stage like TGC, I feel a sense of responsibility to make the clothes look good. It's a job that can be stressful, but when I overcome it, I feel a sense of accomplishment, and these experiences build up my confidence. Also, when I receive kind words from fans, I feel incredibly happy, and it's a great motivator for me.

■Message to university students

I think that having dreams is a wonderful thing, so for those who currently have dreams, no matter how reckless they may be, I want them to have confidence in the fact that they "have dreams" and work hard without giving up. And for those who don't have dreams yet, there's no need to rush. I myself went through a period after graduating from the group where I couldn't find a goal. That's why I realize that having dreams is not easy. However, I think that by continuing to do what you love, you will see something that will lead to your goal. The time will come when you will naturally see something, so I want you to try various things without getting too worked up and while you're refreshing yourself.
