40th Mynavi Tokyo Girls Collection 2025 SPRING/SUMMER ~Tanabe Ririka~

It was held at the National Yoyogi Stadium First Gymnasium on Saturday, March 1, 2025."40th Mynavi Tokyo Girls Collection 2025 SPRING/SUMMER"The theme for this year's event was "HERE WE GO!" Celebrating its 20th anniversary, TGC is taking a new step towards the future. With the arrival of spring, Mynavi TGC 2025 S/S welcomed a diverse and impressive lineup of performers, and we spoke with model and actress Ririka Tanabe.

◆A spectacular runway, the charm unique to TGC

TGC is a place where a wide range of fashions are shown, from casual to modern, dresses to kimonos, and people from all walks of life appear, so it's an event that anyone can enjoy. Personally, I was excited because my costume this time had a completely different feel from my usual style.
For the cool stage performance, I was conscious of how I walked and my facial expressions to be cool. I think I was able to convey the charm of the costume to the fullest by paying attention to small details, such as the timing of when I took off my sunglasses. I personally felt a strong sense of specialness that can only be found at TGC.

◆The rewards and joys of being a model

I am truly happy to be able to stand on the runway, something I have dreamed of since I was a child. One of the attractions of modeling is being able to try out clothes that I would never normally choose. For me, who usually wears pants, the skirt and sleeveless style this time was a fresh experience. It feels like I have discovered a different side of myself, so the thrill of standing on stage is special no matter how many times I experience it. Another fun aspect of being a model is being able to find out about seasonal trends before anyone else. When people who have seen my magazines or at TGC say, "I want to copy that outfit!", I realize that I have been able to convey the appeal of that style, and it makes me feel rewarded.

◆ The attitude of pursuing what you love and not being afraid to take on challenges

I've always been the type of person who has very clear likes and dislikes, so throughout my life I've been completely absorbed in the things I love. Conversely, if I think, "this isn't right," I often quickly switch gears without forcing myself. However, I feel that no experience is wasted, and that I've always thought, "I'm glad I tried it." All of my experiences have accumulated to make me who I am today. I would like to continue working as a model, and I would also like to try my hand at various works as an actor. Right now, I'm particularly interested in works that have the theme of "bullying." I believe that if I can properly face the work and act, I'm sure I'll discover a new side of myself.

◆Message to students

I think your student years are a time when there are many things you can only do now. That's why I want you to go ahead and try anything that interests you even slightly. It's not easy to find what you like, but the most important thing is to feel free to try anything. If you try it and it doesn't suit you, I think that will be a valuable experience, and it may even spark a new interest. I myself have reached where I am today by repeating this process. Cherish the experiences you can only have as a student, and enjoy the present to the fullest!
