Celebrating its 20th anniversary, TGC is taking a new step towards the future. With the arrival of spring, Mynavi TGC 2025 S/S welcomed a diverse and impressive lineup of performers, and we spoke with model and actress Nagase Riko.

About TGC

TGC is a very sparkling venue, and it's a stage I've longed to perform at since I was an exclusive model for Seventeen. It's a strange feeling to be standing there, but what makes me happiest is that I'm having fun. The TGC runway is always exciting, as you can feel the passion of the audience, and each stage has its own unique atmosphere. This time, I was on WEGO's stage, and the outfits were casual and relaxed, reminiscent of the Heisei era, so it was fun to walk so closely with everyone. Seeing people I've worked with before on other projects with expressions I don't usually see on stage is both educational and inspiring. Walking the runway alone can be a little lonely, but I was able to enjoy it without feeling nervous because I was chatting with the other performers right up until the very last moment before the stage.

■ What makes the job rewarding?

I started this job after being scouted on the street. From then on, I started watching TV consciously, and I wanted to be someone who could deliver something, so I decided to pursue a career as an actress. Filming can be tough at times, but it's even more rewarding when my work reaches so many people who are looking forward to it. I also think that one of the great attractions of acting is being able to live a life other than your own. In the future, I would like to try my hand at film in addition to dramas. I think the appeal of film is being able to fully immerse myself in a single work, so I would love to appear in one. My future goal is to become a gentle actress who is kind to everyone. When I talk to senior actors, many of them are broad-minded, sympathetic, and speak kindly to me no matter what the situation. I would like to be that kind of person myself.

■Message to university students

I believe that student life will pass by in the blink of an eye. At the same time, it is a time when you can absorb many things and study to your heart's content the things you love. Please cherish and enjoy this precious time in your life. And when in doubt, try as many things as you can, and work hard with a positive attitude without being afraid of failure.
