Stage play "RE:BIRTH" ~Beyond the world enclosed by walls~

From October 2, 2025 at the Airship TheaterStage play "RE:BIRTH"has opened.
The latest production in the series, following the stage plays "RE:VOLVER" and "RE:CLAIM," has been announced, starring and directed by Keisuke Ueda and with the original story and script by Kotaro Yoshitani.
The "RE:VOLVER" series is an action entertainment theatrical project written specifically for the actors whom director Yoshitani Kotaro trusts and who have shared the good times and the bad with him, in order to bring out the side of them that he wants to see.
The first installment, "RE:VOLVER," was conceived when Yoshitani said he wanted to see Ueda's mischievous side, and depicts the battle between mischievous boys born and raised in the slums of the fictional closed city of "Kamiya" and the dictatorial state that imposes its evil governance.
This third installment in the series tells the story of Suzuki, played by Ueda, who arrives on a "certain island" after running away from Kasumi Palace. The cast and crew are made up of old acting acquaintances who director Ueda enthusiastically offered to join. Everyone is united in supporting Ueda. Please look forward to this new story of Suzuki, a man who seeks freedom in the outside world from the city surrounded by huge walls, Kasumi Palace.
This time, we covered the dress rehearsal held at the Airship Theater on October 2, 2025.

■A powerful worldview! ~Student theater report~
I was overwhelmed by the speed at which the characters' lives raced across the stage, and before I knew it, I had forgotten to breathe.
The delicate yet powerful sword fighting was beautiful and powerful, further heightening the tense atmosphere. The way the characters each stuck to their own principles and beliefs, and clashed with each other holding on to what they couldn't compromise on, was not just a clash, but a passionate one, as if the deepest parts of their hearts were clashing. It was as if the performance reflected the true strength and fragility of human beings.
As I was drawn into the performance, I felt as if I, as an audience member, was part of the story.
In everyday life, we often find ourselves holding ourselves back and trying to fit in with those around us, but watching this play made me think, "What is it that I am willing to risk my life to protect?"
(Yoshimatsu Akina, third-year student at Musashino University)
The story is set in a world that follows the events of the stage play "RE:VOLVER" which was performed in 2018, and I have been looking forward to it since its production was announced in July 2025.
I had seen the previous stage production, "RE:VOLVER," before attending the dress rehearsal, and I was very impressed to see that the world view of the stage production, "RE:VOLVER," had remained the same, but the action had returned at an even higher level.
The action director for this film is Kawasumi, who is an active actor and very skilled at sword fighting, so the action is very powerful.
The direction was created by Ueda, who is also active as an actor, and takes into consideration the audience's desire to see the character's facial expression.
There were few blackouts and the performance was full of a sense of speed, so the two hours went by in a flash.
Among the actors appearing in this film, Yokota and Tamaki are particularly worth mentioning. Yokota shows a different side to the characters he usually plays. The character played by Tamaki is key to the story, so be sure to pay attention to Tamaki's skillful acting when watching!
The actors who appear in many of the so-called "2.5-dimensional musicals" are all wonderful, but in this production, there is no original source material, and I would like you to see each and every actor playing the characters who have been created from scratch.
There are lines and scenes that are reminiscent of heartwarming scenes from the previous stage play "RE:VOLVER," so those who have seen or watched the previous work will enjoy it even more. Of course, first-time viewers will also enjoy it, so there's no doubt you'll want to watch the previous work!
I think that everyone will receive different things from watching this play, but for me, it helped me to realize that this is the "real" me, taking together all the regrets I have felt in my life so far. I hope that everyone will see the play and take something from it.
After seeing the play, I couldn't help but hope that there would be a sequel!
I sincerely hope that we can make it to the final performance without anyone missing!
