Actor. Born January 8, 2001. In 2018, she made her film debut in "Misumisou," and in 2024, she won the Best Supporting Actress and Best New Actor awards at the 48th Japan Academy Awards for her roles in "Golden Kamuy" and "Seitai." Her starring role in the film "NEW GROUP" is scheduled for release in 2026.

◆Movie "Love's Sickness"Please tell me about

The character I played, Yorikawa Kei, is a charismatic girl who is described by those around her as being able to manipulate people with ease. As I was reading the script, I was constantly wondering what kind of person she was and what her feelings were. She is not a character who acts simply on her feelings, so I was conscious of dividing the performance into several layers, considering her true intentions and strategies. As someone who played Kei, I have not found the answer that says, "This is the right answer for her," and I don't think there is one anywhere.
This film is a complicated love story, but it also has elements of mystery and suspense, so I hope you enjoy its uncomplicated appeal.

◆What is the appeal of being an actor?

I think the best part of this job is being able to experience the lives of various characters. For example, it's interesting to experience things that are different from my usual self through a role, such as running as hard as I can in the rain.
As I work in a variety of roles, including as an actor and voice actor, there are times when I think I could have done things better, but I always strive to give my best performance at the time. I will do my best so that people will think, "I'm glad I asked Anna Yamada to play this role." I would also like to try my hand at fast-paced, interesting dialogue and comical roles in the future.

◆Please give us a message for the students.

When you think of university students, you may imagine a fun campus life. Student life is a time when there are so many things you can only do now. I hope that you all cherish every moment and enjoy it to the fullest. I'm the same generation as you, so I'd like to have fun together.
