The 15th performance of the unique theater group "Gekidan Bancho Boys☆" produced by Sony Music Entertainment"Prayer Octopus Strange Story"It began on Wednesday, October 22nd.
This is an original new work written and directed by Takuma Suehara (Obonro), and member Yasuharu Tsubokura will be starring in his first lead role in a Bancho Boys☆ production.
The film is told from two perspectives: "Hikari-hen," which tells the same story from the perspective of the protagonist Akitsu Kotaro (Tsubokura Yasuharu), and "Kage-hen," which tells the story from the perspective of Kage-Chiyo (Kikuchi Shuji). The first screening of the Kage-hen was on Thursday, October 23rd.
"Inori Tako Ibun," spun by the Bancho Boys Theater Company, will be performed at Theater Mixa until Tuesday, October 28th.
Both the Light and Shadow episodes will be live-streamed for one week on Monday, October 27th, with archived footage. The Blu-ray version of the series is scheduled for release in March 2026.
This time, we covered the public dress rehearsal that took place on October 22nd prior to the opening.

A play that asks what happiness is - Student report

This production features a different costume atmosphere from the theater company's performances led by Takuma Suehara, who is responsible for the script, direction, and music. The stage is a structure known as a "greengrocer's" that slopes from the back to the front, and the story unfolds on a greengrocer's that Suehara himself drew.
This work tells the story of "octopuses," people who should never have been born but are given life in a mechanical vessel.
The octopus is kept under the control of the state and raised in secret. With the help of a human named Akitsu Kotaro, the octopus escapes and heads for the outside world. However, I felt that this story was not just about an escape, but a work that asks questions like "What is happiness?" and "What does it mean to live?"
When disaster strikes the land, the octopus performs a prayer ritual, using up its life force, and once it has used up all its power, it quietly melts away. Some people may feel that the octopus is wasting its life, but to me it seems to value life in its own way. Even if it seems unfortunate to others, it is a source of happiness for the octopus.
I think that how viewers feel about this work will change depending on the environment and values they grew up in, as to which characters they like and which words they relate to.
I really wanted as many people as possible to see it.
