The 42nd Mynavi Tokyo Girls Collection 2026 SPRING/SUMMER (hereinafter, Mynavi TGC 2026 S/S) was held on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at the National Yoyogi Gymnasium First Gymnasium.
This year's theme is "OUR CANVAS." Everyone involved in TGC will add their own colors to the vast canvas that is TGC. The individuality and creativity of each person intertwine to paint a magnificent art piece, creating a one-of-a-kind story.
We spoke with actor Wataru Hinata, one of the many talented performers at Mynavi TGC 2026 S/S, which took place with the arrival of spring.

■ The stage of "TGC"
TGC is a fun event that brings together all kinds of people, including fans who come to see their favorite performers. One of its attractions is that artists, actors, idols, and more gather together, creating a sense of unity and excitement throughout the venue.
This will be my fifth time on stage, but I still haven't gotten used to it. I think I'm gradually getting used to being seen by so many people, but when I think about how they'll see me and even how I walk on the runway, I can't help but get more nervous.
For this shoot, I wore clothing from the brand "HTH" by yutori. The key to the look is a relaxed style that incorporates a city-like atmosphere into a casual style. It perfectly suited my taste, and it was a really great outfit.
■The accumulation of each step creates the present.
During my school days, I studied very hard. Before starting this job, I was just an ordinary middle school student, so I studied for about 12 hours every day aiming for a prestigious high school in my hometown. There were times when I wanted to run away right then and there while I was studying for the entrance exams, but I think I am where I am today because I overcame that period.
My entry into the entertainment industry was thanks to my mother and sister who applied for an audition for me. I think I was interested in it because I enjoyed watching dramas and movies. I didn't think I had any chance of succeeding, but I ended up winning the grand prize, and now I'm able to work in the industry like this.
Since entering this industry, I've learned that a huge number of staff members are involved in the production of a drama, and that a lot of money and time is invested in filming. Everyone contributes their ideas, and dozens of hours are spent on a single scene. The finished product is then released to the world and reaches viewers. Every time I see the footage myself, I feel that all the steps I've taken have been worthwhile.
A major turning point came in my third year of high school when I appeared in Kamen Rider and left home for the first time. Until then, I had been commuting from my hometown, so I couldn't shake the feeling that it was more like an extension of an extracurricular activity than a job. However, when I went to the set alone and started to support myself, I finally realized that this job was a way to make a living.
Through that experience, I developed a sense of professionalism, and at the same time, I became even more drawn to this job, thinking, "If I can make a living doing something this enjoyable, I want to work even harder."
■With the support of my family as my strength, I want to one day take on a role that will give me my all.
In this industry, you can't get the next job unless you receive positive feedback. That's why I consider every job a challenge. There are ups and downs; there are times when I get a lot of work, and times when it's tough. But no matter what, my family always believes in me and supports me the most. That's why the desire to make my family happy is at the core of my motivation.
Going forward, I want to take my time to prepare carefully and challenge myself to play roles as if I were truly living as that person. I hope to continue encountering works that leave me with a deep sense of accomplishment, even if it means feeling completely burnt out when it's over.
■Message to university students
Since I'm the same generation as you, I can't really say anything authoritative, but I've always been a very curious person, so I entered this world with the feeling of "Let's just jump in!" As a result, it turned out to be a major event that completely turned my life upside down. I experienced firsthand how much a small trigger can change your life. That's why I feel that hesitating and doing nothing is a real waste.
Please don't be afraid. Put aside what others think for a moment and jump into what you want to do.
